Abstract
Recent measurements demonstrate for the first time a clear trend of ft with Z for the super-allowed Fermi transitions. The value g βV R = (1.41222 ± 0.00046) × 10 −49 erg cm 3 is recommended for the vector coupling constant effective for nucleon β-decay (including the “inner” radiative correction); consequences are discussed.
