Abstract
Suncus etruscus (Savi, 1822) (Mammalia, Soricidae) in the island of Lipari (Eolian Archipelago, southern Tirrenian sea, Italy. The pygmy white-toothed shrew, Suncus etruscus (Savi, 1822), is recorded for the first time for the island of Lipari. Eight specimens (3 males and 5 females) were found during 2002-03 in the surroundings of the main urban area of the island. The average of the main biometric measures of the exa- mined specimens are 42.6 ± 3.7 mm (head-body) and 24.3 ± 1.1 mm (tail) for the males, and 42.3 ± 1.8 mm (head-body) and 25.8 ± 1.1 mm (tail) for the females.
