Abstract

Arterial stiffness (AS) has been identified as independent predictors of cardiovascular mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The number of circulating neutrophils, neutrophil activation markers and oxidative status were increased in CKD. There was a past report that serum angiogenin concentration was increased in patients with stage IV PAOD and may be used as markers of PAOD severity. In addition, there was a recent paper that the increase of serum FGF-23 as ADPKD stage advanced was associated with the development of AS.
