Abstract
Sumoylation is a reversible post-translational modification implicated in cancer. In this issue of Cell Chemical Biology, Benoit etal. describe an inhibitor of sumoylation that results in anti-proliferative effects in cancer stem cell models via the sumoylation enzyme SAE2.
