Abstract
During the summer of 1959, an automatic frost-point hygrometer of original design was flight-tested with other sensors of the AN/AMQ-15 Weather Reconnaissance System. Several hours of continuous frost-point data were collected in the high troposphere and lower stratosphere. Values ranging as low as −70C testify to the advantages of this sensor for conditions of low humidity and demonstrate the feasibility of the sensor for humidity measurement from high-performance jet aircraft.
