Abstract
Studies of the religious behavior of the Andean peoples have not yet been able to attract specialists in social science, due tothe academic preconception of the «pantheon of the Andean gods» and the context of the process of urban desacralization of our time. However, some managed to elucidate the ritual formulas and expressions of myth as components and imprints of the religious system in action. And, insofar as they are social facts, they are related to the productive capacities, social feelings and the value system of their environment. With this concern, we propose to show a limited bibliographic summary of conceptual contributions, theoretical advances and ethnographic records of contemporary Andean religiousthought. Based on our experience in the Ayacucho region on the conceptual management of pagapu and wamani as ritual axes of propitiation and hard nuclei of cultural matrix, in a context of migratory movements and growing social conflicts.
