Abstract

The divertor design of ITER is based on cassettes, which comprise a reusable body, and sacrificial plasma facing components (PFCs) which are expected to be replaced a number of times during the ITER lifetime. Central to PFC replacement is remaking of the PFC to cassette attachment. This paper describes the initial theoretical studies and practical tests associated with engineering of the making and remaking of a multilinks PFC to cassette attachment.
