Abstract

A survey of works dedicated to research on heat transfer in condensation of moving vapor with concurrent flow of vapor and film is presented. The Generalization of a great number of experiments by various authors has shown that, in wavy film flows, there occur conditions when an increase in the vapor velocity does not lead to enhancement of heat transfer, as compared to heat transfer in condensation of motionless vapor. In a turbulent regime of film flow, with We Wecr, intense entrainment of the film from the wave crest to the vapor core starts, which results in substantial enhancement of heat transfer.
