Abstract

Long and large tunnel structures are one of the main structures of lifeline projects, and their seismic damage should be given great attention. In order to understand the seismic performance of tunnels and other underground structures, this paper introduces the origin and development of seismic theory of underground structures, the seismic input methods of long and large structures, and the definition of seismic vulnerability, and summarizes the key factors of vulnerability research, including site conditions, earthquake types, structural uncertainties, seismic strength indexes, and damage indexes. Finally, based on the shortcomings of vulnerability studies, the future development of tunnel vulnerability is presented.
