Abstract

Pillaitamil is one of the 96 genres of Tamil literature. Pillaikavi literature doesn’t originate in foreign language. Pillaitamil literature praises the Lord or the great human being as a child in the seasons such as Pavatu, Sengirai, Sappani, Muttham, Alakham, Ambuli, Chittil, Siruparai, Siruthaer, Ammanai, Osal, Neeradal etc. The purpose of this article is to approach such genre of Pillaitamil literature from a psychological point of view. Literature is a creation of the mind. Thus, the psychological elements found in literature are categorized as creator, creative method, storyteller and reader. In these ways, creative psychology is revealed in Pillaitamil literature. It is highlighted that the mood of the creator who sings Pillaitamil is in three stages namely motherhood, childhood and as a young girl. This article explains the mood of the mother in the seasons like the period of Kaapu, Ambuli and Thala, the psychology of the girl in the season of childhood, the movement behaviours of children in other seasons, the seasons like sengir are the impulses that the mother causes to her children.
