Abstract
Closed expressions for the (positive-odd power) energy-weighted sums m 2 k+1 are given for nuclear fluid dynamics. It is shown that m 1 and m 3 agree with the quantum mechanical results. Strength functions are calculated for fluid-dynamical modes which are embedded in the particle continuum. Their lowest moments are compared with the sum rules.
