Abstract

Among the sulfur-containing extractants organic sulfides and sulfoxides are preferredly applicable for separating noble and non-ferrous metals, above all the available natural sulfur-organic compounds, being extracted from mineral oil concentrates, and their oxidation products are used. The fundamental principles of the extraction of noble and nonferrous metals by use of organic sulfides and sulfoxides are treated; constants for the extraction of silver nitrate and gold (III) chloride by use of sidfides are given. Methods for the separation of noble metals from non-ferrous metals and for the separation of noble metals have been elaborated and summarized schematically.
