Abstract

The numerous studies published over these last years on the theology of Mario Victorino have now permitted us to know better his philosophical sources and so to clarify some obscure points in his writings against the Arians. These investigations have revolved around his commentaries to the Corpus Paulinum. In his way, Victorino is now better situated withim his patristic context. In line with these investigations, the author of this study has devoted his attention to Vintorino's anthropology, studying both his anti-Arian works and his Pauline commentaries. The article offers us part of his research: a concept-analysis of the descent of the soul in relation to contemporary philosophical speculation, and the anthropology of Victorino as inspired in the exegesis of Gen. 2,7.
