Abstract

Abstract This article examines the choice of projection adopted by the U.S. Army Map Service for the lunar maps published by them. A variety of modified azimuthal projections are suggested, all of which would possess some useful mathematical property desirable for lunar maps. The author is a Senior Lecturer in Geography at the University College of Swansea.
