Abstract

This article analyzes violence against women (attempted suicides and attempted femicides) as two problems that have worsened during the confinement caused by covid-19, as well as the actions and mechanism undertaken by the corresponding government agencies to deal with the pandemic in Chiapas, a state on the southern border of México. For the analysis, two databases were developed, one of the systematizations of journalistic information collected through the Observatorio Feminista de Chiapas; and the second database was developed from the monitoring of the social networks belonging to state institutions that seek the prevention, care, and eradication of violence against woman. The findings were documented between March 1 to July 31, 2020, the analysis is only contemplated within this period.
