Abstract

Since 1951 tuberculosis advisory committee, established according to the tuberculosis control law, has played an important role in improving the quality of tuberculosis control programme in Japan. The management of tuberculous patients has changed markedly in the past ten years due to advances in chemotherapy and changes in the epidemiological situation of tuberculosis. In this paper, several suggestions were made on better management of the tuberculosis advisory committee intending to judge cases by unified criteria.
