Abstract

In wireless communication systems, transfer of information between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna is achieved by means of electromagnetic waves. There are several propagation models which can precisely calculate the path loss. In this paper the path loss values of various propagation models are estimated and analysed. It was observed from the results of the path loss estimation for 5 m and 15 m receiver antenna heights in suburban environment that Free Space model showed the lowest path loss values as compared with the other models at the same environment. Finally, a suggested empirical radio propagation model is presented.
