Abstract

We aimed to evaluate improvement in diabetes screening, medication use, and GP clinical handover in Indigenous Australian cardiology patients at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Following the initial audit, the multifaceted interventions in 2018 were increased pathology testing of HbA1c from 6 to 7 days a week, targeted staff education, systematic HbA1c screening for patients under the care of Better Cardiac Care (BCC), Coronary Care Unit, and Cardiac Rehabilitation Team.
