Abstract
A new technique is presented for the transient simulation of high-speed VLSI interconnects, modelled by lossy transmission lines with nonlinear terminations. The asymptotic waveform evaluation (AWE) technique is extended from analysing linear circuits to nonlinear ones. Significant central processing unit (CPU) speedup over conventional simulators such as SPICE is achieved.
