Abstract

The present investigation on succession of insect pests on Okra, Abelmoschus esculentus was carried out in the Vegetable Research Farm, Maharajpur, Department of Horticulture, JNKVV, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh during Kharif season during the year 2018 (July to October). Results revealed the incidence of different insect pests at different stages of the okra crop, i.e., vegetative stage, flowering stage, fruiting stage, maturity stage and at harvest In all, five insect pests and a natural enemy were recorded on different stages of the crop i.e., jassid, Amrasca biguttula biguttula (Ishida), Whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Genn.), Aphid, Aphis gossypii (Glover), Red cotton bug, Dysdercus cingulatus F., Shoot and fruit borer, Earias vittella (Fab.) and Ladybird beetle, Coccinellas eptempunctata (L.). The predator namely Lady bird beetle, Coccinella septempunctata, Coleoptera and Coccinellidae was also recorded.
