Abstract

Metastatic undifferentiated soft tissue sarcoma has a poor prognosis, with metastatic sites often involving the lungs, bone, or bone marrow. We report a case of soft tissue undifferentiated sarcoma with metastatic involvement of the lungs that relapsed during therapy with an unusual presentation of metastases in the central nervous system (CNS). The 20-year-old patient was aggressively treated with the alkylating agent temozolomide for radiosensitization and systemic therapy during radiotherapy, followed by multimodal treatment with ifosfamide, doxorubicin, and surgery. Two years post-therapy, the patient is still in remission. The benefits of temozolomide for treating CNS undifferentiated sarcoma are discussed.
