Abstract

Case presentation of successful treatment of neuropathic foot pain with 8% capsaicin (Qutenza) Patch 60 year-old gentlemen with six-year history of burning pain and numbness to the bilateral plantar aspect of feet and big toes. He has had prior negative workups in the past for vasculitis, vascular insufficiency, diabetes, and Lyme disease. The patient denies any significant alcohol history, nutritional abnormalities, or exposure to chemicals, toxins, or chemotherapeutic agents. EMG studies revealed mild to moderate demyelinating sensorimotor peripheral neuropathy of the tibial and common peroneal nerves.
