Abstract

Summary We herein report a compelling case study of a 92-year-old female patient who was urgently transferred to our hospital due to sudden-onset mitral regurgitation (MR) following acute myocardial infarction with cardiogenic shock. The case presents unique challenges associated with the application of a transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) procedure using the MitraClip device to address the severe MR and stabilize a ruptured papillary muscle. Our team successfully conducted the TEER procedure, which resulted in the maintenance of MR at a level greater than mild.
