Abstract

AbstractA 78‐year‐old man with atrial fibrillation treated with warfarin experienced acute headache, deafness, cerebellar ataxia and dysuria. Superficial siderosis was diagnosed on brain imaging; however, no bleeding sources were detected. His neurological deficits and bloody cerebrospinal fluid diminished after withdrawal of warfarin. Apixaban was started 2 months after the onset, and his deficits and siderosis had not recurred 18 months after switching these anticoagulants.
