Abstract
Periampullary diverticulum is a risk factor for the occurrence and recurrence of gallstone diseases. It is controversial whether periampullary diverticulum affects the success rate of elective biliary cannulation. In some cases, periampullary diverticulum makes selective biliary cannulation difficult. We report a case in which selective biliary cannulation was possible using biopsy forceps in the presence of periampullary diverticulum.
