Abstract

AbstractIncapacitating brittle diabetes is a well‐recognised phenomenon occurring in a small number of insulin‐dependent diabetics (Refs 1, 2). Young adult females are most commonly affected and successful outcome of pregnancy in these patients is unusual. We report the successful completion of pregnancy in a diabetic with excessive degradation of subcutaneous injected insulin and who, in a previous concealed pregnancy, had become severely systemically insulin‐resistant.
