Abstract

This case report aimed to describe a successful case of pregnancy post vaginal stenosis due to SIS. A woman was referred following SJS diagnosis with vaginal stenosis relating to Azithromycin and Naproxen treatment. The patient suffered from blindness due to corneal perforation in the right eye and cutaneous scarring and deformed nails were obvious following SJS. The patient underwent cesarean section. She gave birth to a healthy live female infant weighing 2,900 g with Apgar scores of 9 and 10 at 1 and 5 min. Mother and baby were well and discharged 48 h later and both remained healthy at the six-week postnatal review. Health providers must be careful concerning the reaction of the drugs especially the one is the Stevens- Johnson-syndrome (SJS) which is a potentially fatal condition. The women with a history of SJS should be assessed in their pregnancy to exclude stenosis etc.
