Abstract

We present two cases of calculi in ectopic pelvic kidneys that were removed by extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). Gantry alterations of the HM3 Model Dornier Lithotripter and repositioning of the patient are necessary to allow adequate placement and imaging of the stone. These changes broaden the clinical usefulness of ESWL to include patients with anomalous kidneys or unusual body habitus.
