Abstract

An epiphrenic diverticulum of the esophagus is an uncommon finding at endoscopy, and ulceration with bleeding is even more rare. The choice of therapeutic procedure to treat bleeding esophageal diverticula has been controversial. We report a case of an actively bleeding ulcer with a visible vessel in a giant epiphrenic diverticulum. Hemostasis was achieved by using epinephrine and heater probe application.
