Abstract
This paper is concerned with the management of technology linked with the technology commercialisation (business-oriented) aspect. The analysis of this paper is based on the two major research funding organisations in Thailand: the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and the Thailand Research Fund (TRF). Since there are difficulties in exerting an effective pull on the formal R&D system, specific attention is given to the innovative activities along the stages from development to commercialisation. The R&D Management System Model is proposed to deepen an understanding of the relation among the technological capability of the Thai industry, the level of innovation diffusion, and the management of R&D projects. The empirical contribution of this paper is to help R&D managers understand how to manage R&D projects in order to bridge the interface between technology and business (successfully bringing technology to market).
