Abstract
Correlation of the activation parameters for the reduction of ClO4– by aquoruthenium(II) with those for substitution of Cl–, Br–, and I– on the same cation indicates that substitution of ClO4– on to Ru(H2O)62+ is the rate-determining step in the reduction.
