Abstract

Abstract Catalytic dehydrogenative polymerization of phenylsilanes with electron-withdrawing substituents using dimethylzirconocene as a catalyst afforded the corresponding polysilanes with rather high molecular weights. Significant substituent effects were observed on the electronic spectra of the polymers.
