Abstract
Functionally disabled elderly people are seniors who need the help of another person to perform at least one activity of daily living or instrumental activity of daily living. Recent cutbacks in HUD's budget authority do not bode well for the future of traditional federally subsidized housing programs. If these seniors are to receive affordable housing and services, the time to act politically is now. The typology of current subsidized rental housing options for these seniors is presented as a model to aid current and future planners and policymakers in developing housing options that are affordable to this population.
