Abstract

A permanent GPS station (BOGA) has been installed on top of the office building of the Instituto Geografico Agustin Codazzi (IGAC) in Bogota in early 2000. As the processing of the collected data soon indicated large systematic position variations particularly in the vertical component, a careful analysis of all the data acquired up to March 2001 is performed. This analysis comprises the data processing of a 656 km long baseline between BOGA and another new permanent station in Cartagena (CART). The time series of daily estimates of relative position components clearly proves a subsidence of the BOGA station of 25 mm per year as well as remarkably large local horizontal movements due to a tilting of the IGAC building.
