Abstract
In this paper we discuss subsalt imaging by way of target‐oriented 3-D prestack depth migration. First, we review the need for 3-D prestack depth migration to image below the salt. Second, we describe the 3-D poststack depth migration sequence leading up to the 3-D prestack migration, as well as the velocity iterations associated with depth migration. Third, we show several comparisons involving 3-D prestack depth migrated data.
