Abstract

A new approach for clutter suppression in airborne phased array radar is presented. It is implemented by adaptive processing for the data in the detected Doppler channel, with the clutter remaining outside this channel. Simulations show that the new approach approximates the theoretical optimum. However, the computational expense is greatly reduced compared with the optimum processor.
