Abstract
Abstract Dendrimer-encapsulated subnano Pd clusters catalyze selective hydrogenation of 1,3-cyclooctadiene to cyclooctene. The catalytic activity increases with the size of the subnano Pd clusters. The activity of the threefold hollow sites of the subnano Pd clusters plays an important role in the hydrogenation reaction.
