Abstract

The observation of the rotational transitions of SH + 3 has been extended to the 600 GHz region. The SH + 3 ion was generated by an electric dc discharge in the gas mixture of H 2S and H 2 in a hollow-cathode discharge cell. The J = 2-1, K=0 and 1 transitions have been observed using a source-modulated submillimeter wave spectrometer. The rotational constant B 0 and the centrifugal distortion constants D j and D JK are determined from the three observed rotational transitions. The molecular constants determined agree well with those reported by previous infrared studies.
