Abstract

From an investigation of social and productive transformations in the urban peripheries in the process of deindustrialization, the aim of this article is to try to construct a category of analysis that allows to think and to understand the subjectivity proper to the popular classes that inhabit the margins of traditional salary status. The precarious subjectivity defines the new forms of subjectivity produced by the new organizational systems of production and by the new devices of management of the employment and the unemployment in order to implant ways of obtaining profitability from the intensification of work and the low costs of labour.
