Abstract

It was possible to effect single-alternation patterning at 24-h ITIs, and then to disrupt it, and then to reinstate it in three successive phases of an experiment. The results support the hypothesis that rats exude odors when rewarded and/or nonrewarded which can serve as discriminative cues for the differential responding of other rats.
