Abstract

The effect of raw milk quality on product quality is discussed in explaining the reasons for quality payment schemes. In October 1982 the Milk Marketing Board of England and Wales will centralise its testing for the quality payment of its 43,000 dairy farmers in six laboratories. The sampling, sample identification, sample transport, testing, recording, and reporting systems which are being developed for use are described.
