Abstract

We use an extended 8×8 k.p Kane-Weiler Hamiltonian model to calculate the magnetic subband dispersions in superlattices with zincblende symmetry. The approach takes into account the full spin degeneracy of the eight lowest Bloch states at the Γ-point, and the strong subband mixing and couplings. We compare the subband dispersions from the present model (8×8) with Luttinger's (4×4) and with the uncoupled parabolic models.
