Abstract
We consider an $\mathrm{SU}{(3)}_{L}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}\mathrm{U}{(1)}_{X}$ model of the electroweak interactions as a possible extension of the standard model to higher energies. The model contains new fermions with ordinary lepton and quark electric charges. There are new gauge bosons with masses in the TeV region. There exists a version of the model with identical low energy predictions as those of the standard model.
