Abstract
The Tokyo guidelines 2013 (TG13) provide new severity assessment criteria for acute cholangitis (AC) that clearly differentiate between moderate AC and mild AC so as not to miss the optimal timing for biliary drainage. The aim of the study was to evaluate the severity assessment criteria for AC of TG13 and developed a scoring system for predicting the need for urgent/early biliary drainage.
