Abstract
Although self-expandable metal stents(SEMS) and plastic stents(PS) are widely used for malignant hilar biliary obstruction, the extent of liver drainage for palliative treatment of malignant hilar biliary obstruction is controversial. The aim of this study was to compare unilateral and bilateral endoscopic metal and plastic stent placement in patients with malignant hilar biliary obstruction.
