Abstract

To compare the technical feasibility, clinical and surgical outcomes between a single-step approach of endoscopic removal of common bile duct (CBD) stones with endoscopic transpapillary gallbladder drainage (ETGD group) and a two-step approach of endoscopic removal of CBD stones and percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage (PTGBD group) as a bridge treatment before cholecystectomy, in patients with acute cholecystitis and a high suspicion of CBD stones.
