Abstract

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is an endoscopic treatment method widely used in premalignant and malignant lesions. This method, which is difficult technically with high complication risk rate, has rarely been performed in the West. Additionally, ESD is not as widely performed in the colorectal compared with gastric ESD because of greater technical difficulty based on the anatomical features of the colon including its longer length, narrower lumen, extensive flexion and thinner walls, longer procedure time, and increased risk of perforation. In the present study, we aimed to present our results of ESD procedures with respect to the learning curve.
