Abstract

The epidemiology of esophageal food impactions is poorly understood. Although there is an increasing recognition of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) as an etiology prevalence estimates vary widely. Our objective was to identify factors associated with Esophageal Food Impaction (EFI). We also aimed to determine the rates of esophageal biopsy in those with EFI and to assess the prevalence of EoE in those with EFI.
