Abstract

Because neither en bloc resection nor assessment of the resection margin could be obtained in endoscopic piecemeal mucosal resection (EPMR) for large esophageal lesion, the boundary of each snare becomes the potential recurrence origin theoretically. Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is now being increasingly used for these tumors because of high curative resection rate. However, the technical difficulty of ESD repeatedly been shown to be associated with higher complication rate.
