Abstract

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) in early gastric cancer which provides a higher complete resection rate than conventional endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) has rapidly come into widespread use. However, it is not widely used for treatment of colorectal tumors because of its technical difficulty. Since Colorectal ESD requires a very long procedure time and often causes complications such as perforation, development of safer and more reliable devices as well as technique modifications are needed. The aim of this study is to evaluate safety and efficacy of new traction method, the cross-counter technique, for large colorectal tumors with a combination of a novel large diameter balloon overtube.
